sheila.schmutz@usask.caHip Dysplasia Screening. Hips can be certified free of hip dysplasia by board-certified radiologists at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (minimum age 18 months), or at the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals in Columbia, Missouri (minimum age 24 months). Your local vet's word is a good indication but not certification for breeding purposes. The dog's x-ray should have its registered name or registration number (which is also its tattoo) and the date taken. X-rays should be of good quality but need not be taken under anesthetic, if your dog is cooperative.
Choose one of the following sites for evaluation and age:
306-966-2410 for courier, if needed
You should enclose a check for $32 U.S. or $50 Can. payable to LMCNA with the x-ray. If you want x-rays returned, add another $3. Otherwise Joe keeps them on file. Do not state a value above $5 on the package since that is all the film itself is actually worth.
X-rays taken after 24 months of age can be sent as above, or to:
